Golf Side Game keeps your rounds, players, scores and balances on your device. There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. We don't collect, sell or share your personal information.
What's stored on your device
Everything you enter — player names, handicaps, scores, bets, saved rounds, payments and balance adjustments — plus your light/dark theme choice, is saved in your device's local app storage. It never leaves your device unless you send it somewhere yourself (see below).
We have no copy of it and no way to see it, which also means we can't recover it for you. Use Export backup on the Past Match Results screen to keep your own copy.
When something leaves your device
When you share it. "Text results", "Copy scorecard" and "Export backup" hand your data to your messaging app, clipboard or files. Where it goes from there is up to you.
Loading the website. The web version is served by Cloudflare, which, like any web host, receives your device's IP address and basic browser information in order to deliver the page. We don't receive or use that information. See Cloudflare's privacy policy. The iPhone app has everything built in and doesn't need this.
Course lookup (when available). If you search for a golf course, the text you type is sent to our server and passed on to GolfCourseAPI.com to find the course's pars and stroke index. To stop the free service from being overused, our server keeps a count of lookups per IP address, which is deleted automatically within 48 hours of your last lookup. Search results are stored without any information about who searched.
What we don't do
No accounts, logins or sign-ups.
No analytics, advertising or tracking, and no data sold or shared.
No location, contacts, photos or other device permissions.
No payments. The app only keeps track of side bets between friends; it doesn't move any money.
Deleting your data
Because your data lives only on your device, you're in control of it. Deleting the app, or clearing this website's data in your browser settings, removes all of it permanently.
Children
Golf Side Game isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update it on this page and change the effective date above.
